Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has resigned

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko has submitted a resignation letter to the Verkhovna Rada. This was announced by the Speaker of the Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in Facebook.

"The Verkhovna Rada has received a statement on the resignation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko," he wrote.

According to Stefanchuk, the Council will consider this issue in the near future.

He thanked Svyrydenko for his work during an extremely difficult time for the state.

According to People's Deputy Oleksandr Kachura, the Committee on the Organization of State Power was instructed to immediately consider Svyrydenko's application.

"The committee will consider this issue tomorrow morning," he emphasized.

Kachura added that his committee is to hold two more separate meetings, which will consider:

  • President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal to appoint a new prime minister;
  • the new Prime Minister's proposal to appoint other members of the government and dismiss members of the Cabinet.
