The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has reported suspicions to 12 individuals who organized the operation of a network of underground gambling establishments in the capital. About this reported the press service of the prosecutor's office.
It was established that two 37-year-old twin brothers, who worked in the police in Vinnytsia region until 2014, organized the operation of 10 gambling establishments in Kyiv. Each of the members of the organized group had their own clear responsibilities. Someone looked for premises for rent, someone acted as an administrator, someone performed technical maintenance.
Underground gambling establishments operated in a closed format — only for "their" clients, who received information through mailings.
According to the prosecutor's office, the estimated daily profit of the business was 500 thousand hryvnias on average.
During searches of gambling establishments and homes, computer equipment, draft records, cars, and money (over 490 hryvnias, 152 dollars, almost 700 euros) were seized from the suspects. Weapons and ammunition were also seized and sent for examination.
A petition has been filed with the court to seize the seized property and impose preventive measures. The investigation is ongoing.
