Poland is preparing a "pre-war" law for the state's full readiness for war

Poland is developing a special bill to prepare the state and defense forces to work in conditions of full readiness in the event of war. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Poland Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, reports RMF24 and Republic.

According to the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, the creation of the document is based on analysis and lessons from the war in Ukraine.

The main goal is to bridge the gap between the functioning of the country in peacetime and the formal introduction of martial law.

Kosiniak-Kamysh stressed that the government must be prepared for the worst-case scenarios due to the growth of security threats and hybrid attacks.

"If foreign missiles violate our airspace, if drones fly near the border, sabotage occurs and GPS is jammed — when should we prepare if not now?" - he said.

The new document should eliminate gaps in the legislation and speed up decision-making processes.

The main innovations include the possibility of more rapid deployment of Polish and NATO allied forces before the declaration of martial law and the full synchronization of Poland's defense planning with the Alliance's systems.

Also, the preparation of critical infrastructure and the expansion of the list of services involved in defense.

It is also planned to update training rules and regulate the actions of civilian employees in leadership positions during a crisis.

The draft law is currently undergoing interdepartmental consultations, after which it will be submitted to the Sejm for consideration.

The country's authorities regularly record security incidents against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. In particular, during Russian attacks, missiles and drones repeatedly violated Polish airspace.

In addition, intelligence services report attempted sabotage on railways, cyberattacks, and cases of damage to infrastructure cables on the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
