South Korea named the condition of supplying weapons to Ukraine

South Korea will not "sit idly"

South Korea may consider providing weapons to Ukraine. It will depend on the extent of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea. About this said South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol during a press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

During the speech, he said that South Korea will not "sit idly" in response to Pyongyang sending troops to Russia.

"If North Korea sends special forces to war in Ukraine, we will support Ukraine step by step and consider the possibility of taking the necessary measures to ensure the security of the Korean Peninsula," Yun said.

According to him, South Korea adheres to the principle of refusing direct deliveries of lethal weapons, but in this case may reconsider this issue. It will depend on the military activity of North Korea.

"The Republic of Korea will never sit idly by and will take necessary measures step by step in coordination with the international community depending on the development of military cooperation between North Korea and Russia." He said.

During the conference, he emphasized that together with President Duda, they condemn North Korea, in particular, for illegal military cooperation with Russia. Yoon Suk Yeol emphasized that the deployment of North Korean troops in Russia violates the UN Charter and the organization's Security Council resolution and is a provocation that threatens the security of not only the Korean peninsula, but also Europe and the whole world.
