An agreement between Ukraine and the United States on the joint extraction of Ukrainian fossil resources is currently being negotiated and may be signed in the near future.
This was stated by the advisor to the head of the President's Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, reports FREEDOM.
According to him, the agreement with the US on minerals should solve two main tasks for Ukraine - a fair distribution of profits from future projects and security guarantees for Ukraine.
"President Zelenskyy treats the preparation of such a document in a working format. That is, it should be worked out by the relevant ministries, calculating the tactical and technical parameters. The Ministry of Defense, the Office of the President of Ukraine should evaluate and finalize it in terms of security guarantees, which will also be spelled out in this document. I do not see the tragedy that the agreement is being discussed, discussed quite thoroughly at different levels, working teams have been created, etc." - said Podoliak.
The OP's advisor noted that the signing of this agreement is "a matter of the near future."
