Ukrainian military personnel continue their training in the USA and Europe. The Pentagon is finding funds from various programs, but soon "tough decisions" will have to be made. This was stated by the deputy press secretary of the Pentagon, Sabrina Singh, reports "Voice of America«.
"We cannot simply turn our backs on those Ukrainian soldiers who come either to Europe or the United States for training and send them back to war." she said.
According to her, there is money allocated, such as from the program of the Initiative to promote the security of Ukraine — long-term security assistance to Ukraine.
"Yes, this is an important mission. Again, there is a combination of different pieces of funding that help support this learning. But if we continue to operate without adequate funding, our military will incur even more costs.” Singh said.
At the same time, she said that now is the moment when the army will have to make some tough decisions about where they will get the money. "Maybe from other programs. So now is a difficult time not only for Ukraine, but also for the US Army," — Singh said.
