all

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have exposed the battalion commander of one of the brigades deployed in the Donetsk region. He was illegally earning money from fictitious "combat" payments, official sites of both clubs report law enforcement officers

It is noted that the officer demanded monthly "kickbacks" of UAH 40 from his subordinates for accruing increased payments allegedly for participating in combat operations during the month. In fact, the servicemen were not in the area of active combat for that long. And, according to the payment procedure, they were supposed to receive increased payments exclusively for the time spent on the front line.

The commander threatened those who refused to pay with being transferred to the infantry and sent "to zero."

In March 2025 alone, the official received almost UAH 1 million in cash for fictitious payments. He planned to receive the same amount in April, but was caught red-handed while handing him another portion of the bribe.

The attacker was taken to Kyiv, where he was informed of suspicion of receiving an illegal benefit from an official, combined with extortion (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years with confiscation of property.

The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect - detention in a guardhouse for a period of 60 days with the alternative of bail of 49 million UAH.

Procedural management is provided by the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Prosecutor General's Office.
