The last time water tariffs for the population were increased was in December 21. Since then, the cost of electricity, fuel, and consumables for repairs has increased 3-4 times. At the same time, water tariffs have not changed, and all water utilities in the country, without exception, have found themselves in a difficult situation.
Since June 1, water utilities across Ukraine have begun setting new economically justified tariffs. Currently, 15 out of 22 regional centers are already paying for water at the new rates.
Even those water utilities that have received significant assistance from European partners over the past four years have had to revise their tariffs.
The most modest increase in payments — a little more than twice — was in Cherkasy. In Vinnytsia, almost three and a half times.
So, in Uzhhorod they now pay UAH 91.24 per cubic meter, in Ternopil — UAH 87.34, in Poltava — UAH 83.71. Vinnytsia residents now pay twice as much for water, and Odesa is still determined by fair prices.
