Newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, in a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, assured of unwavering support for Ukraine.

He stated that Canada supports the proposal for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. At the same time, he emphasized that the country will provide Ukraine with the military support necessary for self-defense — now and in the future.
"Russia must stop stalling and halt its attacks. It is time for Russia to come to the negotiating table in good faith. As agreed by the G7 in Charlevoix, we will strengthen monitoring of sanctions to encourage compliance," — the Prime Minister of Canada noted.
