Milrem Robotics will supply Ukraine with over 150 THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles as part of a Dutch-led defense initiative. This was reported by press service companies.
A significant portion of these vehicles will be assembled and delivered in collaboration with VDL Defentec. The planned aid package was first announced in September, but the donor country was not disclosed.
Yesterday, October 6, Dutch Minister of Defense Ruben Brekelmans joined Milrem Robotics and VDL at an official announcement and signing ceremony at the VDL factory in Borne to mark the agreement.
Deliveries will be made by Milrem Robotics Netherlands in close cooperation with VDL Defentec, which is creating a dedicated final assembly line for ground robots at its factory in Born.
Milrem Robotics will provide comprehensive training for Ukrainian operators and support personnel to ensure effective deployment and maintenance in the field.
“We are honored to lead this project in partnership with the Netherlands and VDL. The THeMIS platform has already demonstrated its value in combat conditions, and we believe this contribution will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities,” – said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.
