Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that in the event of a personal meeting with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, he intends to discuss a ceasefire and the exchange of all prisoners. He said this in an interview for Liberation Zelenskyi said.

"If I meet with him, we should come out with a political victory — a ceasefire, an exchange of all prisoners for all prisoners, or something like that," said the head of state.

He noted that the Russians will not trust the Ukrainians, and the Ukrainians will not trust the Russians. Therefore, in the president's opinion, only external mediators can guarantee compliance with all agreements.

Zelensky stressed the importance of a reliable and balanced mediation that would command respect from both sides of the war. The president named the United States as a possible guarantor, believing that Donald Trump's participation could encourage Putin to come.

"If Putin doesn't come, it will look like a complete defeat for him," said the Ukrainian leader.

In addition, Zelensky called for new sanctions against Russia, in particular from the United States and the European Union.

When asked about the duration of the conflict, Zelenskyy stated the following:

“No one knows how long it will last. But not ten years. Ukraine will not survive… This is costly for everyone, and not only for friends, but also for enemies,” — he summed up.
