Any deepening of military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK is dangerous not only for Ukraine, but also for the countries of the Indo-Pacific region. This was stated by the coordinator of strategic communications of the US National Security Council, John Kirby briefing.
"Putin is desperate. It desperately needs help and military potential, because export controls and sanctions have effectively turned its entire economy, which was before this war, into a wartime economy." noted Kirby, commenting on the question of the recent alleged use of North Korean missiles by the Russian Federation to attack Kyiv.
According to him, this prompts the Russian dictator to seek help from such countries as Iran and North Korea.
Kirby could not confirm that it was North Korean missiles that were used then, but added that such actions of the Russian army correspond to Putin's intentions regarding the use of military aid from the DPRK.
"It is quite obvious that the military cooperation between North Korea and Russia is dangerous for the people of Ukraine, as these missiles continue to attack Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure, but it is also dangerous for the Indo-Pacific region and any development of it will have consequences for the security of the countries in this region", — he noted.
At the same time, the representative of the White House noted that the US and its allies will make the necessary efforts to improve the situation against the background of such cooperation.
