In the capital, utilities and energy companies are working to restore electricity, heat, and water supplies after a massive overnight attack by the Russian Federation on critical infrastructure. About this informed Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko said.
The situation is currently most difficult in Troyeschyna. About 600 residential buildings in the area remain without electricity, heat, and water.
Additional heating points are being deployed in the districts
Due to the difficult situation in the Desnyanskyi district, additional heating points are being deployed — to the existing 145. These are strongholds where residents will be able to stay not only during the day, but also at night.
Schools are being converted into strongholds
Support points are being set up, in particular, in schools No. 263, No. 264, No. 306, No. 275, and No. 293.
Mobile boiler rooms are being installed there, and overnight accommodations — sleeping bags and meals — are being provided. The mobile boiler rooms have already been sent for operational connection.
The State Emergency Service will install additional tents
In addition, the State Emergency Service will deploy additional tent heating points to assist residents of the affected areas.
City authorities are working to overcome the crisis
"City services are doing everything they can to overcome the crisis caused by enemy attacks, which are trying to leave the capital without electricity, heat, and water," — Klitschko said.
At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted, that in the capital, units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and city services are working at the sites of Russian strikes. About 150 rescue climbers from different regions of Ukraine, including Sumy, Lviv, Odessa, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil. The work is being carried out in stages, observing all safety rules.
Unbreakable and heating points
In parallel, support for the population was organized. In Kyiv, over 1300 points of invincibility, including on a business basis. Additionally, it works 91 heating points of the State Emergency Service at 68 locations, mainly in the courtyards of multi-storey buildings.
Food provision
Together with partners, we organized the provision of food to people — Over 6000 food portions have already been distributed. Food services of the State Emergency Service support both city residents and combined rescue teams.
In the event of a lack of heat, electricity or water supply, citizens are urged to call 112. Operators will provide information about the nearest points of invulnerability, heating or shelter. In the absence of mobile communication, you can contact via WI-FI and the 112 Ukraine application.
