On the night of July 31, Russian occupiers attacked peaceful cities of Ukraine in several waves with various weapons. In particular, the sounds of explosions were also heard in Kyiv. In the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) reported about the consequences.
According to the head of the administration, Serhiy Popka, during the second wave of the air strike of the Russian Armed Forces, which took place in the morning, the enemy continued to attack from several directions, but none of the strike drones was able to reach their targets.
"A few more enemy attack drones were hit by air defense forces and means. In general, during these two waves, more than four dozen enemy UAVs were shot down in the airspace of Kyiv and on the approaches to the capital. Exact numbers will be provided by the Air Force." - says the message.
Separately, the head of the KMVA added that in the conditions of such a dense and massive air attack by the Russian occupiers, the Ukrainian forces and means of air defense worked to the maximum. None of the UAVs hit the target.
As of this morning, no victims or destruction have been recorded in Kyiv.
Earlier Serhiy Popko noted, that on the night of July 31, one of the most massive UAV attacks during the full-scale war was recorded, and the main target of the aggressor was Kyiv. The air alert lasted more than 7 hours and drones entered the territory of the capital in waves from all possible directions.
"At the capital of Ukraine, at a peaceful city, the enemy directed dozens of its drones. This was already the seventh attack on Kyiv by enemy drones in July! It became the most massive for the capital in 2024 in terms of the number of UAVs used,” — the message says.
In the State Service for Emergency Situations addedthat a residential building caught fire in the Kyiv region after a night attack. This happened due to the fall of UAV debris. The house was partially destroyed, and rescuers have already extinguished the fire. There are no dead or injured.
