war

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemned Russia's large-scale terrorist attacks on Ukrainian regions on May 24-25. It reports Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

During this time, the enemy used more than 600 high-precision air weapons - ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, attack drones, as well as strategic bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS.

"The strikes on Kyiv were particularly intense, but missile and drone strikes also hit Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernihiv regions. Russia hit residential areas, student dormitories, shopping centers, schools, hospitals, and other facilities that have no military significance," — the message says.

The attacks killed dozens of civilians and injured more than a hundred.

The Foreign Ministry calls the Russian Federation's actions war crimes and crimes against humanity, as well as a gross violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.

Ukraine emphasizes that Russia is not stopping aggression, but rather is intensifying terror against the backdrop of peace initiatives and international calls for a ceasefire.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on international partners to strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation, increase military assistance, in particular, provide additional Patriot, IRIS-T, NASAMS air defense systems and ammunition for them.

"Moscow understands only the language of force, economic pressure and isolation," — emphasized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and called for ensuring that the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation is held accountable for crimes of aggression and terror.

Russia launched a record 298 drones and 69 missiles of various types over Ukraine that night, including 9 ballistic Iskander-Ms, more than 55 Kalibr and Kh-101 cruise missiles from strategic aviation, as well as Kh-59/69 aircraft missiles. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down a significant part of the attacking missiles and drones — 45 cruise missiles and 266 drones, while some of the others were suppressed by electronic warfare. This night set a new record for the number of attacking drones.

Thirteen regions of Ukraine were hit by enemy fire, including Kyiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy and Poltava regions. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at least 13 people were killed, including three children from Zhytomyr region, and more than 12 were injured. Rescuers worked in more than 60 settlements, eliminating fires and the consequences of the strikes.
