It is too early to talk about a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. Ukrainians need the support of the United States. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during Munich Security Conference.
«Unfortunately, there is no talk of a peace agreement today.". Because the war has been going on for three years, there have been many deaths, many destructions, and above all, lives. All this was brought about by Putin (Russian dictator Vladimir Putin — ed.) and only him," — the head of state noted.
He added that there is no need to "seek mediation" between Ukraine and the Kremlin leader. Ukraine now needs firm support from the United States and President Donald Trump.
"A peace treaty cannot be signed in Munich, because it is Munich and there is no president here. And we remember what things were signed here once (this is the Munich Agreement, under which Czechoslovakia handed over the Sudetenland to Nazi Germany - ed.). I will not repeat such things." Zelensky said.
According to him, the peace agreement should be a plan to end the war, which should be supported by Ukraine and the U.S. The role of European countries is also important, since it concerns security guarantees - the main point in any document on the end of the war.
Zelenskyy clarified that Europe's voice at the negotiating table is very important to Ukraine, as the country will soon become a full-fledged part of the European Union.
