Moldova extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until 2027

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova announced that the country will extend the temporary protection mechanism for refugees from Ukraine. This was reported by NewsMaker.

According to media reports, the decision was made in connection with Moldova's accession to the extended temporary protection regime in the European Union, which will be valid until March 4, 2027.

The country's Interior Ministry said Moldova would continue to provide "safe and effective conditions" for Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to the full-scale war. The agency also emphasized continued cooperation with state institutions, local authorities and international partners to implement support programs.

According to Moldovan authorities, as of September 2024, about 60% of Ukrainian refugees are already employed in the country.
