All teachers of general secondary education institutions will receive monthly salary supplements from January 1, 2025. This will not be affected by the teacher's seniority or the location of the institution in which he works.
This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi v on the air telethon
According to him, the mechanism for payment of additional payments will not require any additional actions from teachers - it will be provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
In the state budget for 2025, 12 billion hryvnias will be allocated for this need, which the state receives from foreign partners, as well as funds for other expenditures in the social sphere.
At the same time, the scenario developed by the department to raise salaries for teaching staff requires at least 40 billion hryvnias.
"We have developed a salary increase scenario, which requires 40 billion hryvnias for phased implementation. With a one-time increase for all teaching staff - 300 billion hryvnias. Therefore, we decided to use the available funds to make such an additional payment", - explained the head of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The department plans to increase the amount of additional payments for teachers, if additional funds are available for this purpose, the minister says.
In addition, the "focus of attention" remains the issue of salary increases for other teaching staff, in particular vocational and technical, preschool education and colleges.
According to Lisovoy, the MES is working on the development of additional payment mechanisms for these categories, but the financing of these costs is mostly entrusted to local self-government bodies.
"We need to develop mechanisms that will allow those communities that can afford to pay more", - noted the Minister of Education.
