Electronic military ID card and digitization of the VLK. Umerov spoke about the priorities of the Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to introduce an electronic military ID card, launch a single register of conscripts, as well as digitize all processes of military medical commissions (MMC).

Speaking at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the Ministry of Defense emphasized that the abbreviation "VLK" in its current form should become a thing of the past. Therefore, he wants to digitize all possible processes in order to reduce the risks of corruption in our state.

"We have to digitize everything that is possible. Information about the soldier should be in digital form: electronic military ID, digitalization of military police and hospitals, electronic journal, report for the military," he said.

In addition to the electronic military ticket and the digitalization of military medical commissions, Umyerov also wants to implement a unified register of conscripts. According to him, this will also help to minimize illegal benefits in the military sphere.

The new head of the Ministry of Defense talked about other priorities of his team. Among them are capacity building and strategic planning of the needs of the army.

"Everything that can be produced in Ukraine should be produced in Ukraine," he said, noting that military spending in Ukraine already accounts for a third of GDP, and by the end of the year the Ministry of Defense will need an additional 250 billion UAH for financial support.

Recall that On September 6, the parliament supported the submission of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi regarding appointment Umerova for the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
