Western allies of Ukraine should lift restrictions on the use of weapons supplied to Kyiv and allow more freedom to strike targets in Russia. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielus Landsbergis, reports LRT
He stated that he also supports the proposal of French President Emmanuel Macron to send military instructors to Ukraine.
"We made a mistake from the very beginning, restricting the Ukrainians, because it could be seen as an escalation," — he declared.
The minister added that Ukraine's allies are particularly affected by the fear of Russia. At the same time, he emphasized that Ukrainians should be able to use the equipment provided to them to achieve their strategic goals.
"They must be able to strike Russian territory, supply lines and troops preparing to attack Ukraine. Only one side is subject to the rules. We must abandon these rules that we ourselves have created." emphasized Landsbergis.
