It is proposed to set the new deadline for re-passing the military medical commission for citizens of Ukraine who are limitedly fit for military service as June 5, 2025.
The Ministry of Defense indicates that the relevant draft law is currently being prepared for consideration. The document amends paragraph 2 of Section II "Final and Transitional Provisions" of the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding Ensuring the Rights of Military Personnel and Police Officers to Social Protection."
Conscripts who are recognized as limitedly fit will be required to independently contact the territorial recruitment center or, through the conscript's electronic account, receive a referral to a military medical commission for a medical examination.
Failure to comply or untimely compliance with the new norm will be qualified as an administrative offense, the Ministry of Defense writes.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense notes that currently, according to current legislation, all those with limited fitness for military service must undergo a medical examination again by February 4 inclusive. However, as of now, only 25% of them have been able to do this.
At the same time, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk reported that the CCC will not apply fines to those who do not have time to pass the military medical examination by February 5. She stated on television that the deadline for passing the military medical examination should be extended by at least three months so that all conscripts who were previously recognized as limitedly fit have time to pass it.
The official noted that after discussions with deputies, the Ministry of Defense, and the General Staff, it was determined that some more time should be given to pass the VLK. This requires changes to the legislation.
"Legislators will decide, but our position is that at least three months should be given. We understand that there is a certain number of VLKs - 1036. There are more than a million people who have to go through the commission. And there is a calculation of the VLK capacity," — said Vereshchuk.
