In Zaporizhia, suspicion was reported against the owner and two doctors of a private clinic of embezzling almost 600 thousand hryvnias from the National Health Service of Ukraine through fictitious patient declarations. About this reported the Zaporizhia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, the director of the medical center organized a scheme to misappropriate NHSU funds by fictitious declaration of patients, and he involved two subordinate doctors with whom he had a trusting relationship in the criminal activity.
According to the developed plan, the group members searched for citizens, mainly from temporarily occupied territories or those who had gone abroad, and without their knowledge, online, through authentication using previously purchased SIM cards of mobile operators, they filled out declarations with them.
Inaccurate data about such interaction between the doctor and the patient were entered into the Helsi medical information system. Subsequently, they reported to the National Health Service on the number of declarations concluded and received appropriate funding from the state.
From April to December 2024, they managed to illegally appropriate almost 600 thousand hryvnias in this way.
The investigation identified 1361 fictitious medical records made by members of the criminal group.
