European leaders have expressed concerns about security guarantees for Ukraine after US President Donald Trump leaves office, Trump said on Fox News, reports CNN.
According to Trump, European leaders expressed concerns to him during meetings on August 18 at the White House about whether US security guarantees in a potential peace deal with Ukraine would continue after his presidential term ends.
"Yes, they did it. We talked about it. Yes, that's right. I can say the same about them," the American leader said.
Trump noted that even if Ukraine and Russia reach an agreement, the future of this war and efforts to deter Russian dictator Vladimir Putin from trying to seize additional territory will depend on who becomes US president.
