Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has revealed what he discussed with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a meeting in Malaysia.
In particular, Lavrov did not comment on Rubio's statements about a new plan for Ukraine, and refused to answer what Russian proposals for ending the war had been conveyed to Trump. He added that he had confirmed to Rubio Russia's previous position on Ukraine.
"We discussed Ukraine, we confirmed the position that President Putin expressed, including once again on July 3 in a conversation with President Trump," Lavrov said.
As a reminder, on June 10 in Malaysia a meeting took place Russian and US Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Marco Rubio met. Following the meeting, Rubio told reporters that he and Lavrov had exchanged new ideas about peace talks on Ukraine.
"I think it's a new and different approach. I wouldn't call it something that guarantees peace, but it's a concept that I, you know, will take back to the president." he declared.
