Russia's combined strike on Ukraine: Ignat spoke about a new feature of the attack

Critical infrastructure facilities were targeted.

On the night of October 10, Russia carried out a combined massive strike on various regions of Ukraine. The targets of drones and various types of missiles, including "Daggers", were energy and gas infrastructure facilities. This was stated by Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the Air Force Command, during a telethon.

According to him, the Russian attack that night was more dispersed - not in one specific area, but different regions of the country were affected.

"The peculiarity of this strike is the use of a large number of ballistic missiles. In addition to two aeroballistic "Daggers", 14 ballistic missiles were used at once - "Iskander-M" or KN-23", - Ignat explained.

Ballistics attacked from various directions. Its target was critical infrastructure facilities.

"Today, in fact, the enemy dealt such an accentuated blow to the energy sector," — emphasized the Air Force representative.

According to him, during today's attack, one of the "Daggers" and four ballistic missiles were intercepted. Ignat also emphasized that Patriot is a powerful system that can really shoot down ballistic missiles. However, it has limitations, because along the ballistic trajectory its effective radius is relatively small, about a few dozen kilometers.

That is why, Yuriy Ignat explained, in order to reliably cover the entire territory of Ukraine, a large number of such systems are needed. Otherwise, during massive attacks, when a lot of ballistic missiles are flying from different directions, it is not always possible to ensure full interception.
