In recent years, the school feeding system in Ukraine has been operating under constant challenges — from energy instability to the need to ensure the safety of children during air raids. In such circumstances, it is not formal reports that become of particular importance, but the willingness of implementers to quickly adapt to reality and offer practical solutions.
An important step in this direction was the addition to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 305, which provides for the possibility of an alternative format of meals for schoolchildren in force majeure conditions. It is this approach that is being demonstrated today "Flavor Factory" company, which was one of the first to introduce a new format of meals for children, designed for emergency situations - blackouts, air alarms, water or heating outages.

A solution that works in real conditions
As the company's deputy director, Olena Usatenko, notes, after the official changes in the regulatory framework and the adoption of the corresponding amendment to Resolution No. 305, it became obvious: waiting for the start of the educational process or additional clarifications means wasting time.
"We proceeded from simple logic: if the state allows an alternative format of nutrition for children in difficult conditions, it should be ready not on paper, but in stock. Therefore, we immediately focused on practical implementation," — emphasizes Olena Usatenko.
These are portioned ready-made meals in retort packages - convenient and safe packaging that does not require additional heat treatment and can be used directly in shelters or in rooms without electricity and heat. The composition includes dishes familiar to children's diets: cereals with a meat component, balanced and designed specifically for schoolchildren.

According to the company representative, such a ready-made, serial solution has not actually existed on the Ukrainian market before. The product was developed taking into account the current requirements of Resolution No. 305 and was immediately prepared for practical use.

Responsibility as a work standard
The company's principled position has become not only compliance with the updated rules, but also the correct design of all products - from labeling to storage conditions. The shelf life of dishes in retort packages allows you to form the necessary reserve and use it precisely in moments of force majeure, and not after the fact.
It is also important that this is not a daily replacement of school meals. This format, provided for by the amendment to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 305, is used exclusively for non-standard situations when the usual food preparation process cannot be ensured safely and fully. This emphasizes a systemic, rather than situational, approach to meeting the requirements.
The story of the introduction of a new food format is a prime example of how a socially responsible business can work ahead of the curve. Without loud statements, but with a ready-made result that can be used immediately.
In a situation where educational institutions are forced to adapt to an unstable situation, it is precisely such actions that build trust - on the part of schools, local authorities, and parents. And demonstrate that implementing state decisions may not be a formal obligation, but part of professional responsibility.
