Russia has sent about 3 North Korean troops to the Kursk region. They are located 50 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. It is reported Financial Times.
The publication, citing representatives of Ukrainian intelligence, notes that about 3 North Korean soldiers were secretly transported by civilian trucks from the far east of Russia to the Kursk region.
According to Ukrainian intelligence officers, only a few hundred of the 3 are special forces, the rest are regular troops. On Monday, October 28, they were placed in barracks approximately 50 km from the Ukrainian border, where they await further orders from the Russian command.
Ukrainian intelligence officials have questioned the combat capability of the soldiers arriving from North Korea, describing most as inexperienced, low-ranking infantrymen.
As the scouts noted, North Korean soldiers have never left their country before, never fought in a real battle, and their experience is very far from modern warfare. In particular, North Korean troops in Russia first saw kamikaze drones, which are constantly used on the battlefield.
Ukrainian officials said they believed the Russians could use the North Koreans as "cannon fodder."
