The country will join the coalition of F-16 fighters for Ukraine

On Saturday, June 10, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived on an official visit. During his stay in Kyiv, he announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of about $400 million.

This was announced in the office of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his visit to Kyiv.

"Canada is determined to respond to the illegal and unjustified invasion of (Russia in Ukraine — ed.) by continuing to provide military assistance to Ukraine, including an additional 500 million Canadian dollars (about $400 million) to support the ability to respond to Russian aggression," says the press release.

According to Trudeau, Canada will also hand over the confiscated Russian An-124 "Ruslan" aircraft to Ukraine.

"Last spring, a Russian plane landed at Pearson Airport in Toronto. As soon as he landed, we immediately detained him. Today, thanks to the legislation that was passed, we are confiscating this aircraft, which was owned by Russia, and we are starting the process of transferring it to the ownership of Ukraine, so that it will no longer be used by Russia," he emphasized.

The plane will be sent as part of a new military aid package. It will also include 10 artillery shells, 76 Roshel Senator armored vehicles, and 287 additional missiles. In addition, the country will join the coalition of F-16 fighters for Ukraine.

"We in Canada will become part of international training to conduct training in the program of using aircraft. We will also join the Leopard tank management exercise initiative, the Prime Minister of Canada noted.

As reported by the Canadian publication CBC, on Saturday, June 10, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit.

"Trudeau arrived in the Ukrainian capital at a time when the government of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi was trying to assess the damage and carry out further evacuation of the population downstream after the destruction of the giant dam in Kakhovka. The Prime Minister is in Ukraine together with his deputy Khrystia Freeland," Canadian journalists wrote

It is reported that Trudeau's trip to Ukraine was planned in the strictest secrecy without appropriate announcements in the media.

In his Telegram channel, Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Trudeau on his arrival in Ukraine.

"Despite all Russia's attempts to break our people, Ukrainians continue to fight for independence and freedom. And in our victory, we will be together, as we are now on our way to protect life and people," the Ukrainian leader said.
