The Cabinet of Ministers approved anti-epidemic measures during elections

The document talks about masks, antiseptics and keeping a distance

The Government approved the Procedure for the implementation of anti-epidemic measures during the organization and holding of elections. The relevant decision was taken at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 14.

Thus, according to the document, polling stations will conduct a survey on the presence of symptoms of respiratory diseases and a temperature screening of all persons who enter the voting premises and the premises of election commissions.

Hand sanitizers must be provided at the entrance to the voting room. Places for centralized collection and disposal of personal protective equipment must also be equipped.

Markings will be placed in the premises, indicating that a distance of at least one meter must be observed. Voter streams, for entry and exit, must be separated. In addition, it is recommended that no more than three people stay in the room at the same time at one table for issuing ballots.

Chairs, tables, and furniture used by the election commission must be made of materials that can be disinfected. The use of cloth on the tables is not allowed.

Members of the election commission must adhere to physical distancing. That is, sit at a distance of at least one meter from each other, or use physical barriers, for example, transparent screens.

Voters must adhere to anti-epidemic measures, treat their hands with disinfectants before entering the premises, wear a respirator or a protective mask. At the same time, members of the election commission may ask voters to temporarily remove their masks to confirm their identity.

We note that all members of the election commission, official observers, police officers, employees of bodies, institutions, on the territory of which voting premises and premises of election commissions are placed, must have protective equipment.

It is recommended that members of the election commission, official observers, and police officers be tested for COVID-72 by PCR no later than 19 hours before election day before working at special polling stations established in stationary healthcare institutions and penitentiary institutions, pre-trial detention centers.
