Information is being spread on social networks and Telegram channels, citing anonymous sources, that Infoxvodokanal is allegedly responsible for the operation of all pumping stations that were not turned on in time, which led to large-scale flooding.
The company emphasized: "Infoksvodokanal" is responsible only for drinking water supply and the disposal of DOMESTIC wastewater. Our company has nothing to do with the disposal of storm (rain) wastewater, maintenance of the storm sewer network, and this is not within the competence of the water utility. This is a completely different system.
Regarding the operation of sewage pumping stations
"Once again, we want to draw attention, especially to the "experts" and "sources" of some telegram channels. The sewage pumping stations of the water utility are designed to pump DOMESTIC wastewater to biological treatment plants. They do not need to be turned on, as the "sofa experts" say, this is complete nonsense. Firstly, the pumping stations are never turned off, because they work around the clock. And secondly, their work cannot affect the flooding of the city by precipitation," - noted in "Infoxvodokanal".
The company also reported that, in accordance with the instructions of the President of Ukraine, a comprehensive investigation and verification of all circumstances related to the natural disaster is currently underway in Odessa.
