Ignat commented on the attack on the Dnipro and the versions regarding the use of the KAB

It is currently impossible to say with certainty what aircraft the Russian Federation used to attack the Dnipro this afternoon. The Russians shot down an air target from an SU-34. It did not reach the regional center. This was stated by Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during a telethon.

"The air on this one was dropped from an airplane, flew over 100 kilometers. It was shot down by air defense almost 15 kilometers outside the city, before reaching the city of Dnipro. Air defense successfully intercepted and destroyed it," — Ignat emphasized.

Now experts will establish what type of weaponry was shot down. After all, the Russians have "enough new equipment" in their arsenal, "the enemy is modernizing its equipment."

Ignat calls the current attack on the Dnipro a "resonant event," particularly given the different versions that have appeared on the Internet.

"After all, we do not exclude that this could be some new means of destruction that the enemy is using. We have seen this repeatedly. For example, the "Shaheeds". We have observed throughout the war how they are being improved. The same thing happens with various other types of ammunition - both missiles and guided aerial bombs," said Ignat.

The PS representative also explained how the KAB flight takes place. According to him, the plane takes off at an altitude of 10 meters, gains high speed, and drops a bomb.

"It spreads its wings and flies a long distance by inertia. Previously, we generally said that it was 70 kilometers. But the higher the altitude of the plane, the higher the speed, the further the bomb can fly to its target," — Ignat added.

As a reminder, explosions were heard in the Dnipro River at around 11:30 today. The Air Force warned of a threat of an attack by a KAB, which was flying "over Zaporizhia heading towards the Dnipropetrovsk region." Monitoring channels reported that a Russian guided bomb had reached the Dnipro River.
