GUR showed unmanned boats with kamikaze drones

The Main Intelligence Directorate uses at least two types of naval unmanned drone carriers for strike operations in the Black Sea. Footage of these platforms is shown in Artem Shevchenko’s documentary “Sea Battle. The Age of Drones,” write "Military".

The GUR is forming a fleet of naval drones, among which unmanned platforms adapted to launch kamikaze attack drones will play an important role. They will allow hitting both ground and highly maneuverable surface targets.

The footage shows two marine drones that are significantly different from the well-known Magura v5. One of them is equipped with a conventional boat motor with blades instead of water cannons and is capable of transporting four containers with FPV drones ready to launch.

"Our maritime platform carries from 500 to 3000 kilograms of various types of weapons - air, surface, underwater. The system uses the latest technologies combined with NATO-style artificial intelligence", – says a special forces scout involved in the use of drones of this type.

Another drone carrier, visible in lower quality footage, has a different hull shape and is equipped with a launcher for four aircraft-type drones.

It is likely that this platform was repeatedly used in operations by the Prymary unit of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to deliver weapons to the coast of temporarily occupied Crimea. In April, it hit several Russian combat boats and a Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system in the waters of the peninsula.

Both systems are apparently equipped with Starlink satellite communication antennas. This increases the combat radius of the naval drones with a reserve of power.

For the first time, a control station for a marine platform was also demonstrated, with an operator's chair and controls: an aircraft-like steering wheel and a speed control lever. The steering wheel itself has several buttons, one of which is probably responsible for the bow roll of the unmanned vessel.

Images from the drone's cameras (day and night) are fed to the operator's augmented reality glasses, and are also duplicated on a screen behind them. Thanks to the glasses, the operator sees a single panoramic picture from multiple cameras.

In addition, images from the thermal imager in the bow and stern cameras are broadcast nearby.

Intelligence officers note that the emergence of platforms makes it possible not only to target ground targets, but also to provide air cover during large-scale naval operations.
