The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received lists of persons whom Moscow can involve in the so-called "Maidan-3" operation. Andriy Yusov, representative of HUR, reported this on the air "Radio Liberty«.
"I cannot name specific names now. There are lists of people on whom the enemy works, and there is a task to attract them to spread their rhetoric and influence the socio-political situation in the country. These are dozens of people, if we are talking about influential categories," — he said.
In order to achieve the goals of promoting Russian narratives and destabilizing the situation in Ukraine, says the representative of the State Government, the mass purchase and creation of telegram channels is carried out. Bot farms are also being created to amplify Russian rhetoric in social networks.
"Now, literally in real time, the active "purchasing" of various tools continues - starting from Telegram channels, pages in various social networks, and reaching out to leaders of public opinion. Every time we hear such narratives that shake our country from within, that delegitimize state decision-making, we will accordingly understand for whom these narratives work." - said Yusov.
The operation, the purpose of which is to destabilize the socio-political situation inside Ukraine, was named "Maidan-3" by Russia. According to Yusov, the practice of calling anti-Ukrainian measures by Ukrainian words is widespread in Russia and originates from the Soviet special services.
"This name was given in Russia. And this is not the first time. Even the Soviet special services, then the Russian special services, called openly anti-Ukrainian measures and xenophobic measures, both in Ukraine and abroad, with nice Ukrainian or foreign words. Yes, for them "Maidan" is a threat, so they use this terminology to turn it upside down. If we recall, many operations of the NKVD against the UPA, OUN, and the Ukrainian underground were called beautiful Ukrainian sweet-sounding words." — said Yusov.
