Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba started a visit to China. He announced this on Instagram and released a video on Tuesday, July 23.
"Hello everyone from China. In order to develop contacts between the leaders of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, I am making the first visit of a Ukrainian high-ranking official to China since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine. This is also the first bilateral visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to the People's Republic of China since 2012." He declared.
According to him, extensive, detailed, substantive negotiations with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi regarding ways to a just peace are ahead. Bilateral relations will also be discussed.
"We must avoid the competition of peace plans. It is very important that Kyiv and Beijing conduct a direct dialogue and exchange positions." - said the minister.
Kuleba believes that China should reconsider its relations with Ukraine through the prism of strategic relations with Europe.
