If the French troops really arrived in Odesa, they could take control of the defense of the ports and control the border with the unrecognized Transnistria. Military observer Denys Popovych told about it, reports "Kyiv 24".
"What tasks could hypothetically be performed by the French troops in the Odesa region? First of all, it is the control of the Odessa ports in order to make it impossible to attack these objects. Now Odesa is exposed to constant shelling, in particular by "Shaheds", and the defeat of French troops by "Shaheds" is already an unfriendly act towards France, the reaction may be completely different. The second is control of the border with unrecognized Transnistria." - says the expert.
According to him, the presence of the French contingent would help to remove from the region the Ukrainian troops stationed in the Odesa region, in order to make impossible the hypothetical attempts of the Russian Federation to attack this territory. These troops could be transferred to the front as reinforcements to those areas of the front where there is a need for it.
