Finland joins in supporting Ukraine's cybersecurity and resilience. The mechanism coordinates international support for the cybersecurity of the country's government and critical infrastructure. About this reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
Thus, on Tuesday, October 14, Finland joined the Tallinn Mechanism to Support Cybersecurity and Resilience in Ukraine.
As the department emphasized, Finland supports Ukraine in protecting against cyber threats and at the same time strengthens its international profile in cyber diplomacy and security.
This opens up new opportunities for Finnish companies to cooperate with Ukrainian structures in the field of cybersecurity.
Protection of Ukraine's critical infrastructure
One of Russia’s constant targets during wartime is critical infrastructure that supports vital functions of government and society. This increases the need for international support, particularly in protecting Ukraine’s government and critical infrastructure.
The beneficiaries of the mechanism are Ukrainian ministries and departments, regional and municipal authorities, as well as critical infrastructure operators. Each participating country provides support from a national perspective, and specific projects are implemented by technology companies and non-governmental organizations.
The Tallinn Mechanism was established in 2023. Significant progress has already been made in the development of cybersecurity, and the projects supported will have a long-term impact on Ukraine's resilience.
In addition to Finland, the mechanism includes Estonia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy, and Norway.
