Starting today, March 16, in Finland, it is no longer possible to drive cars registered in Russia without a special permit. This is written by the Finnish Customs Service, which is quoted Ilta-Sanomat.
A car with Russian license plates in Finland can now be subject to customs duty and VAT, after which it must leave the EU.
In some cases, driving a car with license plates registered in Russia will be allowed - for example, for full-time students, people who work under a fixed-term employment contract, or citizens of the EU or the European Economic Area who permanently live in the Russian Federation.
But they have to prove that they legally imported the car into Finland before the ban came into effect.
