Estonia is ready to extradite men of mobilization age to Ukraine - a statement

estonia

Estonia is ready to extradite men of mobilization age to Ukraine. The country offered to conclude a corresponding agreement. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Estonia, Lauri Läenemets, the newspaper writes ERR.

He admitted that Estonia can help Ukraine and extradite Ukrainian men who are in the country.

"If Ukraine needs it, Estonia can look for this person and extradite him to Ukraine. In general, we know where these people are, what they do. Most go to work, have a place of residence in Estonia." - he said.

Ukraine did not submit an official request, but, as noted in Estonia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs appealed to the Ukrainian ambassador and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with a request, if necessary, to inform about the refugees staying here.

In addition, Lauri Laenemets said that he will offer a written proposal for an agreement between the two countries in the coming days.

The Estonian publication adds that currently extradition of a foreigner is possible only if the person is brought to criminal liability.

We will remind you that on December 21, the German publications WELT and Bild published an interview with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov. The mass media, quoting the minister, wrote that the Ministry of Defense is allegedly planning to call up Ukrainians from abroad for military service. It was about men aged from 25 to 60 years.
