During the meeting of the presidents, bilateral and regional issues were discussed, in particular, ending the war between Ukraine and Russia.
Erdogan stressed that at the current stage, the course of the Russian-Ukrainian war requires a resolution through direct negotiations. In this regard, reaching agreement on minimal common positions is of critical importance.
The Turkish president stressed that he strongly supports negotiations at both the technical and leadership levels.
"The Head of State emphasized the importance of maintaining channels of dialogue between Ukraine and Russia in order to establish peace as soon as possible and expressed his readiness to receive the leaders of both countries when they are ready for this," — the office clarified.
