Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Donald Trump is a chance to achieve peace in Ukraine. He stressed the importance of decisive US action to end the war, particularly in the context of difficult negotiations with Russia. This is reported by Sky news.
He stressed that US President Donald Trump is the best chance for achieving peace, and that his approach to international negotiations, while unusual for European leaders, has its advantages.
Duda compared Trump's economic tactics to "shock therapy," noting that the US president is acting in the interests of American taxpayers, not European allies.
This means that allies must remain calm and adapt to the new transatlantic approach to negotiations.
Speaking about peace talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Duda expressed confidence that only Trump is able to force Russia to stop its aggression against Ukraine.
According to Duda, during Trump's first term, he defeated Nord Stream 2 and thwarted Russia's energy ambitions through its state-owned energy giant Gazprom.
The Polish President also mentioned the importance of strengthening security in Europe, in particular, plans to create a Fort Trump military base in Poland, which should become an important element of the country's defense strategy.
Despite some changes in US plans to withdraw the base in Rzeszów, Duda is confident that Poland remains an important partner for America in the context of security.
Duda believes that even despite the challenges, Poland must remain at the forefront of international security and continue to cooperate with the United States to strengthen its defense.
