The State Emergency Service explained: the smell of burning in Odessa is not related to the explosions

The day before, there was an outbreak of dry grass and barn

In two days, Odesa has become the most polluted: the air smells of burning and contains harmful particles

On September 30 at 14:00 p.m., the Rescue Service received a report from the administration of the Danube Biosphere Reserve in the Izmail district that on the night of September 30, reeds on an area of 240 hectares had caught fire in the floodplains.

"The area of the site is 4500 ha, along the perimeter it is limited by water channels 15 m wide. Due to the absence of a threat of fire spread and access routes, monitoring is carried out by the reserve's employees," the State Emergency Service reported.

As of 6:00 a.m. on October 1, smoke is observed in several cells in the flood plains. Rescuers were not involved.

The Weather Lab channel notes that the winds to Odesa are coming from that direction: "There are many fires in the south of the region, the flow is from there. The answer to the question about the mountain."

The air is dominated by PM25 particles, these are such small particles that easily penetrate the lungs when breathing.

Precisely because of their small size, they often overcome the barriers inside the respiratory system.

This dust can remain in the air around the clock, travel long distances with air masses, and affect people's health.

While our air is not completely safe, we will leave recommendations on how you can protect yourself:

  • wear a mask outside;
  • close windows to avoid pollution from outside air;
  • turn on the air purifier, if there is one at home;
  • Avoid outdoor activities (running, cycling, intense exercise).

Recall that today the occupiers hit the industrial infrastructure of Odesa region with rockets, as a result of which an electric substation was damaged.
