State Border Service: the peak of passenger traffic on the Ukrainian border was recorded on the Saturday before Christmas

More than 750 people crossed the Ukrainian border

During the pre-Christmas week, more than 750 people crossed the Ukrainian border, most of them - almost 394 - to enter Ukraine. The largest number of people willing to cross the border was recorded on the Saturday before Christmas, December 23. About this reported in the State Border Service of Ukraine (SPSU).

"In general, on December 23, more than 141,5 thousand people crossed the state border, at the same time, almost 80 thousand - on the Ukrainian-Polish section", - says the message.

The DPSU noted that this is one of the highest indicators of passenger flow across the state border of Ukraine after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia. For example, in 2022, 19,2 fewer people crossed the state border of Ukraine in the day before Christmas Eve.

The department also emphasized that the passenger traffic decreased just before Christmas, but still remains high. Thus, during December 24, 2023, over 111 people were registered at the border, of which over 66 were for entry.

"Considering that the Christmas and New Year holidays are going on in many countries where Ukrainians temporarily live, the number of people crossing the border may remain high. We emphasize that the largest passenger flow is recorded at checkpoints on the border with Poland. We recommend travelers, if possible, to route through checkpoints that are less busy," — added in DPSU.
