Denmark will provide Ukraine with a new aid package for the reconstruction of Mykolaiv worth more than 21 million dollars. It is reported Ministry development of communities, territories and infrastructure.
The approval of the aid package took place during the fourth meeting of the special Supervisory Committee, co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, the Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, and the Minister of Cooperation and Development of Global Climate Policy of Denmark, Dan Jorgensen. The meeting was also attended by the head of Mykolaiv OVA Vitaly Kim and the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkovych.
As stated in the message, the package in particular includes projects in the agricultural sector, aimed at demining agricultural lands, providing cogeneration plants, as well as the reconstruction of the dormitory of the Mykolaiv State Agrarian University for fire safety, which will be carried out jointly with the organizations UNOPS Ukraine and All Ukraine.
"Denmark is one of our most loyal partners in the reconstruction process. In the spring of 2023, the country assumed patronage over Mykolaiv and the Mykolaiv Region. Since then, we have already made progress in the reconstruction of the city — most of the projects of the previous aid packages have either already been completed or are progressing successfully," - noted Kubrakov.
According in his words with the support of the Danish government, from November 2023, the office of recovery and development of the Mykolaiv region and the office of recovery and development of the city community of Mykolaiv, as well as the office of the Danish embassy in the city, which will act as an "outpost" of the embassy in the city and a contact point for interaction with interested parties, have been established .
With these funds, 44 units of special and construction machinery, 30 school and city buses, medical equipment, fire-fighting equipment, water towers and water supply equipment have already been purchased. Emergency and recovery works are ongoing in some sections of the CHP. They perform work with gas and electrical communications, install equipment. The restoration of three neighborhoods in the city and the construction of shelters in at least 9 schools are also underway.
"I am grateful to the Government of Denmark and Dan Jorgensen personally for their stable position in supporting Ukraine and Mykolaiv separately. This is an exemplary cooperation of the state, partners and local self-government," - Kubrakov pointed out.
