It is noted that the terms of the election process will remain unchanged:
- for the elections of the President of Ukraine - 90 days;
- for the elections of people's deputies of Ukraine - 60 days.
During the preparatory process, the possibility of holding elections in individual territories is assessed, infrastructure readiness is analyzed (consequences of the war), calculations and analysis by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding polling stations abroad, etc.
The CEC proposed several important additions to the electoral process:
- further liberalization of changes of residence and voting location;
- consolidating at the legislative level the norm that voting is prohibited in the territory of the Russian Federation and Belarus;
- instead of voting in the territory of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, voters from there can vote in other safe states;
- the need to provide effective tools to counter foreign interference in elections;
- development of security protocols during elections.
Olena Shulyak, the head of the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada, who was also present at the meeting, reported that there are currently 23 draft laws related to elections under consideration in the parliament, 8 of which are priority ones.
