Goods from Ukrainian entrepreneurs worth up to $800 will no longer be subject to a 10% duty in the US. The duty will be charged only on goods exceeding this amount. This is reported by JSC "Ukrposhta» based on information from the US Postal Service.
The U.S. will impose a minimum 10% tariff on all imports. However, the $800 duty-free limit will remain in place until the Secretary of Commerce establishes a system for collecting duties on such goods.
According to Ukrposhta, the duty-free limit for goods worth up to $800 may be canceled by decision of the Minister of Trade, but the exact time of introduction of this change is not yet specified.
Responding to a question about the possible implementation of the IOSS system in the US, which allows for charging duties when purchasing on marketplaces, Ukrposhta received a message from USPS that they are currently studying options to mitigate the impact of tariffs, but no final decisions have been made.
Earlier it was reported that US President Donald Trump activated 10% base tariffs on most imports, as part of his strategy to encourage domestic investment. For some countries, higher duties replacing the base rate will take effect from April 9.
