Great Britain has introduced new legislation that allows sanctions against Russia to remain in place until Moscow pays compensation to Ukraine.

According to him, the British government is taking on the authority to maintain sanctions against Russia until compensation is paid to Ukraine and is introducing a new route for frozen Russian assets that can be donated to rebuild Ukraine.
The new measures were announced on the eve of a major conference on the restoration of Ukraine in Great Britain this week.
It also comes as London prepares to pass legislation that would require those holding assets in the UK on behalf of the Central Bank of Russia (CBR), the Ministry of Finance of Russia (Ministry of Finance) or the Russian National Welfare Fund (NFF) to disclose them British Treasury.
"As Ukraine continues to defend itself against Russian invasion, the dire consequences of Putin's war are obvious. Ukraine's needs for recovery are and will be enormous. With our new measures today, we are strengthening the UK's sanctions approach, confirming that the UK is prepared to use sanctions to make Russia pay to rebuild the country it so recklessly attacked," Cleverley said.
The new measures mark a significant tightening of Britain's sanctions-busting approach to Russia, as Putin and his henchmen continue their illegal war and Ukraine goes on the counter-offensive.
"We will support Ukraine for as long as it takes to recover from the Russian aggression and create a basis for the nation's prosperity," British Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt said.
