US President Donald Trump, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr, plans to discuss the possibility of talks between Kyiv and Moscow at the leadership level.
About this during the briefing informed White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt.
Journalists asked Leavitt if Putin mentioned in his conversation with Trump what was needed for him to finally agree to meet with Zelensky.
"I don't want to get into it, but as I said, the President and President Putin discussed a meeting in Budapest, and President Trump will talk about that possibility with President Zelensky when he's here at the White House," the White House press secretary replied.
It is worth noting that Zelensky has repeatedly stated that he is ready to meet with Putin. Only the Kremlin leader is preventing such negotiations.
