On the night of July 19-20, a rematch took place at Wembley Stadium in the capital of Great Britain, London, between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and Briton Daniel Dubois. All belts, including the title of absolute heavyweight champion, were at stake.
Oleksandr Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois in a thrilling rematch at a packed Wembley Stadium. The Ukrainian became the first absolute world heavyweight champion in the four-belt era, taking home the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF belts. It took Usyk 15 minutes to win!
The fight began with the expected pressure from Dubois. Remembering the controversial moment with a blow below the belt in the first fight, the Briton from the first rounds tried to work on the Ukrainian's body, using his size advantage. Usyk, in turn, acted cautiously, working on his feet.
The first three rounds were more of a tactical fight, but Usyk was still more convincing.
The turning point in the fight came in the fifth round. Oleksandr found his rhythm and began to break down the Briton's defense with his trademark multi-punch combinations. The Ukrainian's speed and boxing intelligence became an insurmountable task for Dubois.
The Briton started missing more and more clean punches, slowing down and losing confidence. This led to two knockdowns and a knockout!
Currently, Usyk has 24 professional fights under his belt, with 24 wins and zero losses.
