According to a representative of the US president's office, the leaders of the US and the People's Republic of China will meet at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit scheduled for the day after tomorrow in Lima.
The White House noted that this will be the third personal meeting of the heads of the two states since Biden took office as president. Yes, they previously met in Bali in 2022 on the sidelines of the G20 and in Woodside in 2023 — also on the sidelines of the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit).
Telling the media representatives about expectations from the conversation with Xi Jinping, Biden noted that he "intends to use this meeting to discuss the issues on which there are differences and how to deal with those differences in the future."

- to emphasize its concern about the "unfair trade policies and non-market economic practices of the PRC, which have over time created an unequal playing field for American workers";
- to confirm the importance of maintaining communication between the US and Chinese militaries "at all times, especially during periods of heightened tension";
- strengthening of joint law enforcement actions in the fight against drug trafficking;
