Lawmakers in Congress have received the first detailed information about a new funding package that the Biden administration is expected to bring to Congress this week. About this write NBC News citing its sources.
The total request for additional funding, which is expected to be submitted for the fiscal year ending next September, will be about $100 billion, four sources directly involved in the process said.
It is reported that the $100 billion package includes $60 billion for Ukraine, and the remaining $40 billion for Israel, Taiwan, and strengthening the US border with Mexico.
However, sources told reporters, some Republicans in Congress believe that the United States needs to replenish its stockpile of ammunition. This can be done by reducing aid to Ukraine.
Journalists noted that members of the Republican Party are increasingly divided on whether the United States should continue to help Ukraine in its war with Russia. Yes, the United States has already provided Kyiv with over 75 billion dollars in military, humanitarian and financial aid.
